When Lucy hides in a wardrobe in the Professor's house, she finds herself in Lantern Waste, where she meets Tumnus the Faun. Later her brother Edmund finds his way in and meets the White Witch there.
Years later, the four children, now Kings and Queens of Narnia, are hunting in Lantern Waste when they come across the spot where they first entered Narnia and stumble back into the Professor's house in England.
The place where Digory, Polly, Frank the cabman, Strawberry the horse, Jadis and Uncle Andrew first enter the uncreated Narnia would become Lantern Waste. Jadis, angry and afraid at the sight of Aslan, throws a piece from a lamppost she'd taken from London at the Lion's head; it falls to the ground without having any effect on its target. Later the new ground of Narnia causes the bar to grow into a lamppost that shines day and night. This is also where small trees of gold and silver grew that would be used to make King Frank's and Queen Helen's crowns, and where Digory...
I suppose have to start somewhere...I guess I did start somewhere, or sometime. I have a picture of myself when I was about 2 yrs old holding a camera (you can see it at (www.michaelarend.com). And I remember having my picture taken and also looking at photographs. At that time it was all Uncle Somebody or Aunt Somebody, or pictures of the lake, or boats, fish...stuff, just everyday stuff. I was was also always fascinated with looking through things. Magnifying glasses(great for killing ants),telescopes to make things close or very far away, kaleidoscopes, tubes, reflections. I was the kid that spent hours walking around the house with a hand mirror just under my chin looking down and pretending that I was walking on the ceiling. I would...
